Hope
for Peace & Justice was incorporated as a 501(c)(3)
organization under the laws of the State of Texas on November
5, 2004. Hope for Peace & Justice has requested an advance
ruling of its tax-exempt status as a public charity from
the Department of Internal Revenue. Upon approval, the IRS
will issue a determination letter that provides written
assurance about the organization’s tax-exempt status,
and its qualifications to receive tax-deductible charitable
contributions. The recognition of exemption will be retroactive
to the date Hope for Peace & Justice was organized.
In the
meantime, Hope for Peace & Justice has entered into
a fiscal sponsorship agreement with the Cathedral of Hope.
Persons needing immediate assurance that their donation
will be tax deductible, may make donations to Cathedral
of Hope for the benefit of Hope for Peace and Justice. Any
donations will be held in a restricted account and used
only to further the work of Hope for Peace & Justice.
