Monday, Week Five 

On a plane recently, I asked the fellow about to sit down next to me, “How are you?” His response was, “Chasing the dream.” He then pulled out his cell phone and started talking to some folks from work. He talked long after they asked that we turn off all electronic devices, and even ignored a flight attendant's reprimand. From what I couldn't help but overhear of the conversation, the urgent matter was an email that went to the wrong person. His conversation resumed the moment we landed in Dallas. In between, he read two business papers and asked for the money section of the “USA Today” that I had just finished.

I couldn't help but wonder what dream he was chasing. Of course, since that was my fourth flight in seven days, I had to ask what dream I was chasing across the sky. It is easy to get so caught up in doing that we forget to ask if it is a dream/vision we are chasing or our tails.
