Monday, Week Four
And, so, the week is here. Saturday is Christmas. Are you ready? Well, that is what this final week of Advent is all about. At last, there is an urgency to getting ready. Those of us who wait until the last minute, well, here it is.
Many of us are off work this week, except for those poor folks in retail and those of us who carry our work with us wherever we are. Remember to be gentle with those who have as much to get done this week as you do, but who still have to work. A kind word to a harried sales clerk or a bit larger tip for the waiter in an under-staffed restaurant might be one of the last-minute things you do to prepare your soul for the coming of the Christ child.
And, somewhere, someone needs you. Pray to see if God will bring that someone to mind. Remember not all the poverty in this season is material. Someone has lots of money, but no family and friends. Someone seems to have their life together, but can't for the life of them find where they put it. Someone needs to forgive you; go first.
Nothing will get you ready for Christ as much as acting like Him.
Blessings,

Michael
