However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

I spend a lot of time working with churches that love their worship just the way it is. The reason they have asked me to consult with them, though, is that their membership has declined. They are beautiful people, with beautiful worship and a beautiful building, but the results have not been what they want. Of course, the last thing they want to hear is that they need to change.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. After all, many of us are unhappy with the results of our lives, but it seems to never cross our minds that we need to change.
