Wednesday, Week Seven

The purpose of corporations is to satisfy people. The purpose of churches is to transform them. Churches that get that backwards die.

If you are not stirred, stimulated, challenged and even rebuked regularly by your pastor, your church and the Gospels then you may have fallen asleep in the pew. If you are awake and still remain unchallenged then your church/pastor may have fallen asleep.

We live in a culture that is increasingly intolerant of divergent views and opinions. Spiritual maturity and security mean having the capacity to learn from another point of view, and to actually encourage those who offer it.
