Creating
Cultures of Peace
Program Series
H4PJ
launched its first programming adventure on October 23rd.
The movie, A Walk of Wisdom, tells the moving story of
a Buddhist nun in Thailand. Brother Chi-Sing introduced
the film and facilitated a lengthy Q&A time.
Chi-Sing also provided a delicious assortment of Thai food
which a large crowd enjoyed while socializing. The soft,
melodious sound of a reed flute being played by a Buddhist
monk in the background brought a spirit of authenticity
and warmth to the evening that was delightful.
This
night was Part I of a three part educational series H4PJ
is sponsoring entitled Creating Cultures of Peace.
Part II, What is a Culture of Peace? will be Nov.
12th, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00
p.m., an all day workshop facilitated by Rev. Shelley A.
Hamilton and Duane Trammel. The focus of the workshop will
be on methodologies that can guide us in the creation of “cultures
of peace”. Save $15 for registering by October 31.
Regular Registration is $50. The registration fee includes
all materials and lunch. Click
here to sign up to attend.
The following weekend, Nov. 19th, will be an all day Mindfulness
Retreat facilitated by Bro. Chi-Sing. Anyone interested in
learning about peace and other cultures and/or religions
will benefit by all these events.
