What are your activism resolutions for 2008?
Lynn Walters, H4PJ Board Member

With the birth of the Prince of Peace recently past, what will we now do to bring Jesus’ vision of justice and peace into the world?

I know it’s hard to envision at times, and hard to imagine, that our actions have much impact on the powers that be. Even small changes can have far-reaching effects. And sometimes the changes we want come about in entirely different ways than we imagined. Much of the time we are not even aware of the effects our actions have on people. Still, it is important that we take action. Prayer, writing, studying issues, speaking to our friends, co-workers, and others.

What will you do? Read the Hope for Peace & Justice blog and enter into the dialogue when an issue stirs your soul; subscribe to “Liberating Word,” a daily inspirational support for progressive faith-based activists written by H4PJ president Rev. Michael Piazza; find a couple of hours each week to volunteer for a cause about which you are passionate.

The list is endless, but we are here for support. How can Hope for Peace & Justice help you to achieve your goals?

Black Sheep
Hello everyone. Have you heard of the old term "black sheep of the family"? It seems every family and group has them. In this case, I'm referring to some white people in the state of Maine who are so filled with prejudice that they shamelessly threaten or commit extreme acts of persecution against black people.
