H4PJ to Launch New Program with Art Show
Artists sought for month-long show at Artizen Fine Arts
Dallas, Texas–July 23, 2007–Hope for Peace & Justice, a non-profit ministry of the Cathedral of Hope, will launch its highly-anticipated new program, Art for Peace & Justice (Art4PJ), the weekend of September 14–16, 2007 in Dallas. The launch’s highlight will be the beginning of a month-long art show at Artizen Fine Arts, one of the premier locations for Dallas art lovers. Planned to coincide with the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) fall Art Walk, the show begins Saturday, September 15 from 2-8 p.m. Artizen Fine Arts is located at 1215 Dragon Street, Dallas, Texas 75207.
In anticipation of the show, Art for Peace & Justice is recruiting artists in a variety of media to present their work during the month-long show, as well as a second show at Cathedral of Hope beginning the first week of November. The inaugural show will be juried, with selection by a committee from Artizen Fine Arts, including owner Damien Gough. Participation will be limited. Submissions for both shows may be sent via e-mail to dgough@artizenfinearts.com or by mail to Damien Gough; Artizen Fine Arts; 1215 Dragon Street; Dallas, Texas, 75207. The deadline for submissions is August 10. Notification of acceptance into the show will be no later than August 17. Installation of the show will take place September 4–7. Unsold pieces will be available for removal after October 7. Works not selected for the inaugural event will be considered for the second show. For more information, please e-mail Damien Gough at dgough@artizenfinearts.com, or Tim Seelig, Director of Art for Peace & Justice, at tim.seelig@H4PJ.org. Arms Deal

Since September 11, 2001, the Religious Right has used fear to manipulate America. It has used 19 terrorists to make us so afraid that we are willing to abandon our values and do things that are virulently anti-American and un-Christian. The sale of millions of books in the “Left Behind” series, which portrays the Religious Right’s apocalyptic vision, is just one example of how fear-based religion is foundational to what is going on in this country. That demon has to be named and called out if we are to be free of it.
Join Rev. Piazza next Wednesday as we work on ways to build hope and a future filled with peace and justice for future generations.
